Short story about someone anxious and using mindfulness technique
Carla had always been a worrier. It seemed like there was always something on her mind - a project at work, a disagreement with a friend, a looming deadline. And with each new worry, her anxiety seemed to grow.
One day, as she was lying in bed, feeling overwhelmed and unable to sleep, Carla remembered something a coworker had told her about mindfulness. "It's all about being present in the moment," her coworker had said. "Instead of getting caught up in your thoughts, you focus on your breath and your senses."
Feeling desperate, Carla decided to give it a try. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, focusing on the sensation of the air moving in and out of her lungs. She noticed the sound of the wind outside her window, and the feel of the sheets against her skin.
As she continued to focus on her breath and her surroundings, Carla began to feel a sense of calm wash over her. The worries that had been swirling in her mind started to fade away, and she felt a sense of clarity and peace.
From that night on, Carla made mindfulness a regular part of her routine. Whenever she started to feel anxious, she would take a few minutes to focus on her breath and her senses, and it always helped her to feel more grounded and at ease.
Thanks to mindfulness, Carla was able to let go of her worries and live in the present moment. And as a result, she found that she was able to approach each day with a sense of calm and purpose.
The end
